Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard has revealed that former Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, was one of three players who helped him settle at Real Madrid.
Odegaard, who was a former teammate with Ronaldo during their time together at Real Madrid, said the Al-Nassr star took care of him.
The Norway international was the hottest property in European football when he joined Real Madrid for £3million back in January 2015.
The midfielder could not speak Spanish when he arrived in Madrid at just 16 years old, but luckily, there were a few players like Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos he communicated with in English.
Speaking to The Players’ Tribune, the 24-year-old said: “All I am thinking is about how these guys will treat me when I walk into their dressing room. This little kid who did not speak any Spanish.
“But they were all very kind and the ones who spoke English, Kroos, Modric and Ronaldo, they took extra care of me in the beginning.”
