Chelsea will not sack Graham Potter as manager despite a 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
James Ward-Prowse’s first-half free-kick proved to be the winner at Stamford Bridge.
The team was booed off the pitch at the break and at full time.
There were also more calls for Potter to be sacked by the club supporters.
But according to the UK Telegraph, there is no change in the Chelsea board’s position on Potter.
The former Brighton manager still has the backing of co-owner Todd Boehly.
Chelsea are still 10th on the log with 31 points.
Angry Chelsea Supporters Send Strong Message To Graham Potter
There is no excuse for today’s performance against bottom of the league Southampton, it was an embarrassing performance and shows how Graham Potter isn’t the right manager for Chelsea.
After 20 minutes of football at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea had just 37% possession against bottom of the league Southampton. Yes you read that right.
I watched a Southampton team, who had no manager, do everything I wish Chelsea would do. Southampton had a well defined structure to press Chelsea high and force the Blues into mistakes. They were also very comfortable in possession and deserved to go into break with a 1-0 lead.
Potter has had more than 20 games in charge of the Blues and there has been no defined style of play. It’s always excuses for poor performances after every game.
Potter achieved nothing as a player and a manager and I am supposed to trust a process? The question is what exactly am I supposed to trust.
If Potter isn’t sacked as Chelsea boss this weekend then Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital aren’t the right owners for Chelsea.
